Peace, a chance to stop AIDS

ICW WORLD CAMPAIGN

Africa - Asia/Pacfic - Latin America & Caribbean - North America - Europe

Mankind survival depends on our ability to ensure World Peace.

ENHANCING HORIZONS, STREGTHENING BONDS

It is not right that the efforts in the fight against AIDS are only made by  HIV activists. Therefore, we consider essential to reach international leaders that have not yet been contacted to build all of us, together a contribution in order to enhance the Peace notion and, from there on, develop a broader and farther reaching activity against this pandemic.

Peace offers us a chance to stop AIDS.

Worldwide work in search of Peace also aims to widen usual fields of activity, by adding non traditional discourse. Poof of that was the Nobel Peace Prize won by African activist Wangari Maathai, in acknowledgment of her dedicated work regarding the protection of the environment, and the one awarded to Bengal Muhammad Yunus, founder of the so called “Bank for the Poor”.
This is the frame for Patricia Pérez’s candidature to 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, proposed by Honduras First Lady, Doña Xiomara Castro de Zelaya, who is also a reference for the Coalición de Primeras Damas y Mujeres Líderes de Latinoamérica y el Caribe en VIH/SIDA.
Furthermore, the Argentinean Government, through the Minister of Health Ginés González García, has campaigned in favor of Patricia’s nomination. Dr. González García brought Patricia’s candidature in front of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, making her candidate for the 2008 period for two consecutive years now.
This contexts provides us people living with HIV a chance to unite and bring together all actions tending to achieve World Peace, so that we can produce a better social global response to the pandemic. In particular, it encourages us Women, Girls and Teenagers Living with HIV/AIDS to continue our struggle. This is what gave rise to our World Campaign for Peace a Chance to Stop AIDS.
