1986: She receives a diagnosis of HIV+. This is when she begins to develop her leadership skills in subjects such as Women and AIDS, and the protection of human rights of those deprived of their freedom who are living with HIV.

1991 a 1999: In her country, Argentina, she creates and presides the Fundación por los Detenidos Sociales (Foundation for Imprisoned due to Social Reasons). She creates the Forum of NGOs against discrimination.
She serves as a member of the Bill Committee for the creation of the National Institute against Discrimination, Racism and Xenophobia (INADI).

1992: She founds, along with 30 other women, the International Community of Women Living with VIH/AIDS (ICW).
She becomes the leader of the leader of the Argentinean Chapter for over 10 years.

2003: She is one of the 15 people invited by Kofi Annan to the United Nations headquarters to participate in the UNGASS Declaration follow-up. She  had previously taken part in the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on VIH/AIDS (UNGASS) as a member of her country’s official delegation.

2007: She is the Secretary of the International Steering Committee of the ICW International Board of Trustees and Regional Secretary of ICW for Latin American and the Caribbean. She is one of the five surviving founders of ICW. During these years, together with the rest of the members of the ICW International Board of Trustees, she has traveled around the five continents promoting ways of social organization among women, girls and adolescents living with VIH/AIDS.
